What should I choose?  There is so much out there in the market that I am confused!!!

Well, my dear followers, based on my personal experience as an interior designer with 20+ years of experience, my answer is the following.

  1. Is your new kitchen for resale value:

Yes – Get the most durable countertop: I suggest new porcelain countertops. They are durable and have no maintenance to them. They are very trendy looking, and they are made from recycled materials. My favourite brand is Dekton Slabs by Cosentino. The pattern on the provided porcelain slabs is amazing, very tasteful, and very real. Tres Chic

  • If you are a marble lover, then go with marble…But think of maintenance. You need to seal the marble, and if you are afraid of patina, that Marble choice is NOT for you.
  • Quartz vs Quartzite: people are confused. Here is a short answer.
  • Quartz is a mineral fused with resin. Quartz stands for “hard.” The cost ranges from about sixty to ninety dollars per square foot of quartz. Keep in mind that you may end up paying just about the same amount as you would for a natural stone.
  • Quartzite – a natural quartz stone composed entirely of solid natural quartz. High maintenance, it is an absolute gem and very porous and durable. Again, if you like patina, then go for it. Patina!!! It depends on what kind of kitchen you have. I meant what style: country chic, casual then -yes, a natural stone is fabulous.
  • Granite – old-fashioned granite. It says it all. No need to comment on this.
